Amber has broad experience in the assessment and treatment of a range of psychological, emotional and adjustment difficulties. She pays particular attention to mood dysregulation patterns and the role of early parent-child relational attachment in self-concept, social interactions, family dynamics, life transitions and upheaval. She has an interest in:
childhood mood disorders including anxiety, adjustment, anger, depression, poor concentration, sleep, food allergy;
issues relating to women’s health, pregnancy, parenting including low or fluctuations in mood, feelings of stress, anxiety, frustration, confusion or being overwhelmed;
distress and difficulty managing or coping with a serious health condition or or chronic illness;
challenges caring for a partner, family member or close friend who has ill-health, a disability, or is elderly, leading to feelings of sadness, grief, guilt, stress, worry, frustration or burnout;
low self-esteem or recurring negative emotions, such as sadness, worry, irritability, anger, poor distress tolerance, social withdrawal or other complex feelings which interfere with relationships, goals or purpose;
concerns within significant relationships, including difficulties with communication, conflict, lack of meaningful connection, closeness, trust or intimacy, grief and loss.
